Ethical Practices
This one day training event will provide the participants with the knowledge and skills required to work in a legal and ethical framework that supports the rights and responsibilities of both the worker and client. Frameworks will support the duty of care and relevant industry standards and legislative requirements.
Specific Learning outcomes will be ability to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of legislation and common law relevant to work role
- Follow the organisation’s policies and practices
- Work ethically ensuring the rights of the client are protected
- Recognise and respond when the client’s rights and interests are not being protected.
Risk Management – 5 steps
This four hour workshop is aimed at participants seeking to have a basic understanding and application of the 5 steps to risk management in the workplace. The workshop format provides participants with opportunity to explore relevant workplace scenarios using exercises and templates for each step of the risk management process.
Case Note Recording and Client Reports
This training event will provide participants with up-to-date skills and knowledge of professional and appropriate case note practices and report writing. It will also highlight the importance of such practices in relation to privacy, ethics, confidentiality and professional conduct. Appropriate case recording is critical to ensuring the best outcomes and service provision for clients. Would your current case notes and reports help or hinder your client's well-being if scrutinised by relevant courts and authorities?
Specific outcomes:
- Able to document case notes to a standard acceptable by industry and relevant authorities
- Case notes reflect the principles of community work
- Case notes reflect application of privacy, ethics, confidentiality and duty of care
- Reports are prepared to a standard acceptable to the client, legislative requirements, statutory authorities and courts
- Client situations are presented objectively and with a focus on the best interests of the client.
